Thanks for your interest in sponsoring my new release. Many people have asked how they can get involved in supporting artists. I have a little story to share about the importance of music in people's life. I am the second oldest of 8 children and we didn't grow up with very much. My father doing the best he could to provide, traded a piano for a paint job and that is how I started playing music. Being in the economic hardships we were in, my life could have taken many turns growing up. Having music in my life and other musicians as my inspiration, I was given a sense of hope that I can be something in this world. I can be inspiration for others the way it came to me.

Being an idependent artist is a beautiful way of learning the ins and outs of a do-it-yourself approach to a music career. Yet, independent artists would never successfully progress with out the encouragement and support of fans, friends and family. I think of artists that inspire me by doing it themselves before they reached any kind of known status ie, Dave Matthews, Martin Sexton, even the Rolling Stones. Although I have enjoyed the process of being independent, there is quite a bit of hard work involved and I have to learn how to write music, improve my musicianship, be a band leader, be a manager, booking agent, publicist, tour car driver, I've had to learn sound, recording, contracts, copywriting, how to run a record label etc, etc. The list goes on and on. Basically, it's more than a full time job. When an artist is not independent, these jobs are often the reponsibility of whatever representation the artist is contracted to. (Well, there's more involved than that, but..) Either way, there's no write or wrong way of doing it, just what works for the artist. I personally, am enjoying the process and challenge of exploring options out there.
