Can you fall in love with someone just by listening to their album once through? I think you can, and I think I just fell in love with Wendy De Rosa. Her album, "Glow," is captivating, and De Rosa's triumphant, inspirational spirit becomes evident before the first song is half over. It had me thinking about which friends of mine would like her music, and I immediately thought of the young women I know who are savvy and strong, who have been through the emotions of building an independent life and who have struggled in the various stages of love?

Savvy, strong, independent, full of life and inspiration, are the messages conveyed in the groove based, jazzy soul-folk music of Wendy De Rosa. She finds that catchy melody, creates that hook, and then you find your singing it all day long. Her songs are beat driven, and her timber voice soars melodies over her rhythmic guitar playing. She conveys an uplifting healing sound through her performance as a solo acoustic artist, yet takes a jazzier, fuller and funkier approach with her 4 piece band. The addition of upright bass, drums and keys to Wendy’s songs adds very movable, groovable power to her well-crafted songs. Her sound spans genres of jazz, pop, rock, folk and even elements of hip hop. Yet, she will hold her own as a soloist.

As a former Colorado resident, Wendy co-female fronted her groove rock band Mosaic. During her time in Colorado, Mosaic and Wendy’s abundance of success landed her on stage w/ artist such as Merl Saunders, Digital Underground (Tupac Shakur fame), Particle, Global Funk Council, Gilby Clark (Guns n’ Roses) and Eric Singer (KISS), Melissa Ferrick, Patrice Pike, Libby Kirkpatrick, Liza (and the Soulstars), Wendy Woo, and more. As a solo artist she shared stages with artists such as New Monsoon and members of the Sam Kininger Band (saxophonist w/ Soulive), Dan Bern, Jen Chapin and more.

Wendy is an independent artist now based out of the Bay Area. After working in the music business for over 10 years, she developed strategies on managing her own music career on a grass roots level. Touring has been very successful and the press has been favorable. Wendy plays major markets such as NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Austin, all over Colorado and beyond.
